About the role

We are looking for an experienced Mainframe Application Life Cycle Management Specialist to join a strategic project with a leading organisation in Belgium.
The role is primarily focused on Mainframe application development, deployment and lifecycle management. The organisation uses Kobee as its Application Life Cycle Management platform, but previous Kobee experience is not required.
We are therefore particularly interested in candidates with a strong background in Mainframe environments, application lifecycle management, JCL, release management, deployment processes and Mainframe development tooling, who are willing to learn Kobee.

Your responsibilities

• Provide technical support to Mainframe application developers.
  
• Analyse and resolve issues related to Mainframe application development and lifecycle management.
  
• Support application build, packaging, deployment and release processes.
  
• Develop, maintain and troubleshoot JCL used in application lifecycle processes.
  
• Support the installation, configuration and upgrade of the Application Life Cycle Management environment.
  
• Automate and optimise Mainframe development and deployment processes.
  
• Work closely with Mainframe developers, application teams and infrastructure teams.
  
• Analyse technical issues across the application lifecycle and identify appropriate solutions.
  
• Improve and standardise development, testing and deployment processes.
  
• Contribute to the evolution of the Mainframe ALM / DevOps environment.
  
• Develop expertise in the organisation's ALM tooling, including Kobee.
  

We are looking for a hands-on Mainframe professional with solid experience in Mainframe application development and/or Application Life Cycle Management.

Essential experience

• Several years of professional experience in a Mainframe environment.
  
• Strong understanding of Mainframe application development and deployment processes.
  
• Good knowledge of JCL and experience creating, maintaining and troubleshooting JCL scripts.
  
• Experience with Mainframe application lifecycle, release or deployment management.
  
• Experience working with Mainframe development or change-management tools.
  
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
  
• Ability to work closely with developers and technical teams.
  
• Comfortable learning new technical tools and environments.
  

Experience with technologies such as:

• JCL, COBOL,CICS, DB2, IMS, z/OS, TSO/ISPF
  
• Mainframe batch processing
  
• Mainframe application deployment and release processes
  
• Knowledge of Java and Tomcat is a plus.
• Previous Kobee experience is not mandatory.
• Kobee is a specialised Application Life Cycle Management solution used in the organisation's Mainframe environment. The successful candidate will receive the opportunity to develop expertise in Kobee.
• Candidates with strong Mainframe ALM / DevOps experience using other tools
• You are an experienced Mainframe professional who understands how applications are developed, maintained, tested, packaged and deployed in a Mainframe environment.
• You enjoy troubleshooting complex technical issues, improving processes and working closely with development teams.
• You do not necessarily need to know Kobee. What matters most is your Mainframe expertise, JCL knowledge and understanding of application lifecycle and deployment processes.
