Project Manager (Decision Maker) - Insurance - Brussels

Our client is looking for an experienced Senior Project Manager to join its Transformation Office and lead strategic digital and business transformation initiatives. This role offers the opportunity to manage high-impact projects at the intersection of technology, customer experience, operational excellence, and organizational change.

More than a traditional project management position, this role requires a true project owner. The successful candidate will be expected to take accountability for decisions, drive alignment across stakeholders, challenge where necessary, and ensure projects deliver measurable business value from conception through implementation.

Project Leadership & Ownership

• Lead transformation projects from initial scoping and business case development through to successful delivery and adoption.
• Define project scope, requirements, objectives, budgets, timelines, and success criteria in collaboration with business stakeholders and Business Analysts.
• Take full ownership of project outcomes, making informed decisions and managing priorities, risks, and dependencies throughout the project lifecycle.
• Ensure delivery within scope, budget, and timelines while maintaining a strong focus on business value realization.
• Monitor project performance through KPIs and provide structured reporting to senior management.

Stakeholder Management & Governance

• Build strong relationships with sponsors, business leaders, and cross-functional teams.
• Prepare and lead steering committees, facilitating discussions and driving decision-making.
• Influence, challenge, and align stakeholders to ensure project objectives are achieved.
• Communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels, including executive and C-level management.
• Foster collaboration between business and technology teams to support successful transformation outcomes.

Continuous Improvement & Transformation Excellence

• Contribute to the development and enhancement of project management standards, methodologies, and governance practices.
• Share knowledge and best practices across the organization.
• Support a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence.
• Play an active role in strengthening project delivery capabilities across the business.

• Master's degree in Business, Management, Information Technology, or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 10 years of experience in Project or Program Management.
• Strong track record delivering complex transformation, digital, or business change projects.
• Experience operating within large and complex stakeholder environments.

• Strong affinity with digital technologies and IT-driven transformation.
• Expertise in project management methodologies, risk management, business case development, and governance.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Structured, results-oriented, and capable of managing multiple priorities.

• Strong sense of ownership and accountability.
• Confident decision-maker who takes responsibility for outcomes.
• Comfortable working autonomously while influencing senior stakeholders.
• Proactive, resilient, and delivery-focused.
• Fluent in Dutch, French, and English.
