Senior Accountant & Controller

After a few years in finance, you know the difference between running the accounting and running the numbers. You have done the closings, the VAT returns, the audit files. What you want now is a role where controlling and business partnering matter as much as the statutory work, and a clear path to Finance Manager within three to five years.

That is this role.

Our partner is a global law firm with a well-established Brussels office and an integrated global finance organization. The transactional accounting is progressively moving to a shared service centre, which means the Brussels finance seat is evolving toward controlling, tax and business partnering. You report to the Finance Manager and work daily with the Office Managing Partner, the COO and the local business teams.

Your impact as Senior Accountant & Controller

• Full ownership of the monthly close for the Belgian entity, including all general ledger work and the fixed asset cycle

• Controlling, budgeting, forecasting and cost analysis in close partnership with senior management and the local business teams

• The Belgian tax and statutory backbone, from VAT and Corporate Income Tax to audit files and government submissions

• Balance sheet integrity and clean reconciliations across the perimeter, in line with the group's controls framework

• Continuous improvement of finance processes, from reporting tools to the impact of shared services on the local scope

You are the Belgian finance anchor of a global firm, on the path to Finance Manager.

Your profile as Senior Accountant & Controller

• Bachelor or Master in Finance, Accounting or similar

• 3 to 10 years of experience with controlling and (tax) accounting exposure

• Fluent in French or Dutch (native level), with full English proficiency

• Experience with Belgian VAT, Corporate Income Tax and legal finance systems is a strong plus
