We're working with a large-scale organisation looking for an experienced Java Backend Engineer to join a growing engineering team in Antwerp.
You'll work on large-scale platforms that power products across the media and AI landscape, helping to build backend systems that process high volumes of data and deliver strong performance.

Responsibilities

• Develop backend applications using Java and Spring Boot.
• Build APIs and MicroServices that support data-intensive platforms.
• Collaborate with product managers and frontend developers to deliver new features.
• Optimise application performance and scalability.
• Write clean and well-tested code following engineering best practices.
• Participate in architecture discussions, code reviews, and technical planning.
• Contribute to CI/CD pipelines and cloud-native deployments.

• Commercial experience developing backend applications with Java.
• Strong knowledge of the Spring Framework, particularly Spring Boot.
• Experience designing and consuming RESTful APIs.
• Familiarity with relational databases such as PostgreSQL or MySQL.
• Understanding of software design principles, testing, and clean architecture.
• Experience with GIT and modern development workflows.
• Strong problem-solving skills and a collaborative mindset.
• Comfortable communicating in English (Dutch a major plus).
