Network Designer - Waterloo

As a Network Designer within Fiber your responsibilities are:

• Analyse the impact of internal and external triggers on the network architecture, with a focus on large to very large projects
• Consult inventory databases and other available network information as the basis for your study
• Develop a high-level or detailed design plan that describes the solution in concrete terms
• Optimise the network and keep its complexity as limited as possible
• Monitor investment and operating costs and lower them wherever possible
• Safeguard the buildability of the network, so that design and execution fit together smoothly
• Ensure the design, management and maintenance of the cable network in your region and follow up large-scale projects from start to finish

What do you bring?

• A bachelor’s or master’s degree in IT, surveying, geography or a similar field
• Experience in the telecom sector
• Experience with road works and/or utility works is a strong asset

Your skills

• Good knowledge of QGIS (a must), AutoCAD or similar tools
• Good knowledge of MS Office
• Strong spatial awareness; you quickly recognise patterns in networks and maps
• An analytical mindset when approaching technical issues
• Professional communication skills in Dutch and English
