Compliance Officer - Antwerp - Banking

Our client is an International Banking Institution with an established presence in Belgium.

To strengthen its Compliance team in Antwerp, the organization is currently looking for a Compliance Officer who will support the Head of Compliance and AMLCO across a broad range of regulatory and financial crime compliance responsibilities.

• Support the Compliance Manager in the execution and monitoring of the annual compliance plan
• Contribute to the review and implementation of AML/KYC policies, procedures and transaction monitoring processes
• Ensure timely and accurate preparation of regulatory reporting and returns
• Perform ongoing transaction monitoring and escalate relevant alerts and findings to the AMLCO
• Provide compliance advice to the business regarding customer onboarding, KYC reviews, transactions and risk classifications
• Review name screening alerts, sanctions and potential matches identified during customer onboarding and periodic reviews
• Support compliance matters related to corporate banking, credit facilities, syndicated lending and correspondent banking
• Perform compliance reviews and testing in accordance with the Compliance Monitoring Plan
• Contribute to the periodic review of transaction monitoring parameters and controls
• Support the assessment and review of client, country and business-related compliance risks
• Perform data quality controls across the different compliance tools and systems
• Contribute to the Enterprise-Wide Risk Assessment and other compliance-related projects

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Law, Finance, Economics or another relevant field
• Minimum 2 years of relevant experience within Compliance in the financial sector
• Good understanding of AML/KYC, Customer Due Diligence, transaction monitoring, sanctions and embargoes
• Previous experience within banking or another regulated financial institution is a strong advantage
• A financial crime or compliance certification is considered an asset
• Strong analytical skills with attention to detail
• Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with different stakeholders
• Pragmatic, proactive and solution-oriented mindset
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, PowerPoint and Word
• Very good command of English is required, Dutch is a plus
