Legal Counsel - Commercial & Consumer Law - Limburg

Our client is a leading international leisure and hospitality group headquartered in Europe, operating multiple business units across several countries. The Belgian organization employs approximately 2,000 people across different sites and operates within a highly decentralized structure, allowing local entities to maintain significant autonomy while benefiting from the support of a large international group.

As a Legal Counsel your responsibilities are:

• Provide pragmatic and business-oriented legal advice to senior management and operational teams.
• Draft, review, negotiate, and manage a variety of commercial contracts.
• Advise on agency, distribution, procurement, and service agreements.
• Support construction and real estate projects, including related contractual negotiations.
• Monitor and advise on consumer law matters impacting the Belgian business.
• Contribute to ESG-related projects and provide legal support regarding evolving sustainability regulations.
• Identify legal risks and develop practical mitigation strategies.
• Strengthen compliance frameworks and internal governance procedures.
• Collaborate closely with departments such as Procurement, Marketing, Communications, and Operations.
• Translate complex legal concepts into pragmatic solutions that facilitate business growth.

A successful Legal Counsel should have:

• Master's degree in Law obtained from a Belgian university.
• Minimum 3 years of relevant legal experience as legal counsel or lawyer
• Fluent in English, ideally in Dutch as well (or conversational level)
• Strong expertise in: Commercial contracts, Consumer law, Real estate and construction law
• Exposure to ESG-related matters is considered a strong asset.
• Comfortable working independently and managing a broad legal scope.
