Equipment Engineering Data Specialist
Over deze vacature
What you will do
IMEC performs world-leading research in nano-electronics, operating a diverse equipment set of most advanced semiconductor wafer processing models. To improve and further roll out our CIM application landscape, we have started the Smart Fab initiative in 2024. Smart Fab is not only about simplification of manual work, it also will deliver more insight into capacity utilization, as well as product quality. You will become part of this journey in a growing team, providing opportunities for your career development.
- As a member of our Fab Engineering team, you will closely work with experts of the MES and related software – commonly referred to as CIM.
- You have an active role throughout the entire equipment lifecycle, from automation specification during procurement, to requirement gathering after commissioning, to operational improvement after production release. You make sure that operations and engineering requirements regarding CIM integration are sufficiently specified and can be implemented accordingly. To enable this implementation, you need to understand equipment behavior and communication capabilities – which frequently requires exploration and diligent testing.
- While technical knowledge and interest is crucial to be successful in this job, you will collaborate with hardware and software engineers who either deliver details to you or must pick up conclusions made by you. Data Specialist is a pivotal role, putting equipment communication capabilities into practice.
- Commonly known as Industry 4.0 features, in semiconductor manufacturing such equipment communication feeds applications like MES, SPC, FDC (Fault Detection and Classification), APC (Advanced Process Control), and AMHS (Automated Material Handling).
- With this open position we are specifically looking for candidates who will work with Metrology equipment, i.e. measuring process results and product properties.
Who you are
- You have a master’s degree in engineering, exact sciences, or equal by experience.
- You bring 5 years or more of experience in a complex manufacturing environment, characterized by demanding processes, high product mix, and delicate materials.
- Prior experience in or knowledge of semiconductor manufacturing is a strong asset, preferably in a 300 mm Fab.
- You have participated in CIM projects, understanding concepts like the automation pyramid and equipment state engines, as well as standards like OPC or SECS.
- You understand measurement techniques, why different equipment is needed to measure different properties, and how measurement results can be reported.
- You have a pro-active approach and are solution oriented. You cannot wait to roll up your sleeves and dive right into the action. You easily work independently and are an effective team player as well.
- You thrive in a complex and demanding environment.
- Since you will be working in a highly international environment and will be maintaining a good contact with colleagues and co-workers from all over the world, fluency in English is essential.
