Atcon Global - Test Automation Engineer

We are looking for an experienced Test Automation Engineer with a strong background in quality assurance, automation frameworks and API testing. You will work closely with development teams to embed quality throughout the software delivery lifecycle and contribute to the delivery of reliable, high-quality applications.

Your responsibilities

• Take ownership of quality throughout the development lifecycle, from initial implementation to production release
• Design, develop and maintain automated testing frameworks using Selenium and Java
• Develop and execute automated API and integration tests, including REST API and non-UI testing
• Implement and maintain BDD test scenarios using Cucumber and Gherkin
• Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines
• Analyse test results and report defects with clear, actionable logs and supporting documentation
• Collaborate closely with developers to identify testing and automation opportunities at an early stage
• Ensure appropriate test coverage across staging, pre-production and other relevant environments
• Debug unstable or failing automated tests and continuously improve the reliability of the test suite
• Apply recognised testing standards and ISTQB best practices
• Contribute to test documentation, reporting and continuous quality improvement

• At least 6 years of experience in software testing, including significant hands-on experience in test automation
• Strong practical experience with Selenium and Java
• Solid experience in REST API testing and API automation frameworks
• Experience with BDD methodologies and tools such as Cucumber and Gherkin
• Good understanding of CI/CD pipelines and tools such as Jenkins and GIT
• Experience working in Agile or Scrum development environments
• Strong debugging and troubleshooting capabilities
• Ability to improve the stability, maintainability and efficiency of automation frameworks
• Strong analytical, communication and collaboration skills
• Ability to work effectively with developers and other technical stakeholders
• Nice to have:
  • ISTQB certification
  • Experience with non-functional testing, such as performance, security or reliability testing
  • Exposure to cloud-based environments
  • Experience with test data management
• Languages and education:
  • Professional proficiency in English is required
  • Knowledge of French or Dutch is an asset
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in IT, Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent relevant professional experience
